Pinelands is a sprawling English-looking suburb just 10 km from Cape Town’s CBD - well-known for its views of Table Mountain and the many pine trees, after which the suburb is named.
Originally part of an unsuccessful attempt at a pine tree plantation called Uitvlugt, on the then desolate Cape Flats, the post-war suburb of Pinelands grew when local businessmen applied to build in the area. The homes in Pinelands all have a view of some description and are fairly large with wide roads and plenty of space, although interestingly these roads are not conventionally straight and tend to go round in circles or off at tangents.
Pinelands is very central and ideal for either the business or leisure traveller. It is close to the attractions of Cape Town, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, hiking trails, coastal drives, beaches, Newlands Sports Grounds, Mowbray golf course and just around the corner from Vincent Pallotti hospital. Pinelands provides easy access to the N1, N2, M3, and M5 motorways.
